Making the Most of Your Remodeled Bathroom

A Beautiful Bathroom Remodeling Project

Can't Miss Bathroom Renovation Ideas

A small affordable project that can have a big impact on the value of your home is a master bathroom remodel. A master bath remodel guaranteed to make a positive difference in your daily routine. Our customers often tell us that their new bathroom is the highlight of their renovation project. Over the next couple of months I'll share some thoughts and ideas around bathroom makeovers and the improvements they can make to your home and living environment.  I'll start with five can't miss planning ideas.

  1. Increase Your Space
More space and additional light are very upgrades if possible. Expand it in any direction. Extra square footage will enhance the feel and warmth of the room. Taking out a wall and replacing it with a window allows natural light in the bathroom. Choosing the right window treatment is important since you want sunlight to come in but at the same time you’ll need something that gives you privacy. Skylights are another option if room expansion isn't possible or practical.

  2. Add Storage Areas
You can never have too much storage space, particularly in the bathroom. Bathrooms typically have a whole host of hygiene products. Your remodeling project represents a great opportunity to reorganize and store these products. The addition of bathroom cabinets, shelves, drawers or even portable carts provide attractive places to store these items. Choose cabinets that have molding and glass fronts to increase the appeal of the bathroom by giving it more character.

  3. Change Your Flooring
Ceramic tile is a popular and practical flooring choice. Choose a natural tone such as ivory or taupe to keep the bathroom light.
If you think ceramic tile will be too cold to walk on in the winter, radiant floor heating provides heat from below your floor, keeping your tiles, feet and the rest of your room very warm. If installing a new heating system isn’t within your remodeling budget, strategically place throw rugs in the areas where most needed.

  4. Take Advantage of New Trends
There are always new design trends emerging for renovation projects and bathrooms are no exception. Some of the more interesting trends we're seeing in 2019 are wood accents on cabinets and doors, industrial style sinks and vanities, brass fixtures, new tile patterns and shapes and floor to ceiling glass shower enclosures. Take the time to explore the new possibilities as the standard bathroom isn't so standard anymore.

  5. Think of Your Bathroom in a Completely Different Way
You can make your bathroom your own personal getaway right in your own home. Have you considered adding a chair? Adding a comfortable chair gives your bathroom a luxurious touch. Being able to take a break after a relaxing bath is nice way of enjoying some personal time. Using soft, natural colors in your bathroom will create a calming environment. Consider replacing light fixtures to allow the option of having softer light for those relaxing evenings in the tub as well as brighter light for getting ready in the morning.

These are just a few ideas to consider when planning your bathroom remodeling project. Of course the possibilities are endless. Like most things they are only constrained by time and budget. Even with limited time and budget I'm sure you'd be surprised how much you will enjoy your new bathroom with the right kind of planning beforehand.  Next we'll take a look at getting ready for the renovation project once all of the planning has been completed.

Until then,
Joe
